Modern (from the French moderne - Modern) or Art Nouveau (French art nouveau, i.e. "new art") - An artistic movement in the arts, which were popular in the second half of XIX - early XX century. Its distinctive features are: the rejection of straight lines and angles in favor of a more natural lines, interest to new technologies (especially in architecture), the flowering of arts and crafts. Modern tried to combine artistic and utilitarian functions created works that engage all spheres of human activity in the sphere of beauty.
